
Irakli Abuseridze Elected Georgia Rugby Union President
The Lelos’ ex-captain Irakli Abuseridze elected President of Georgia Rugby Union.
The postponed elections were arranged at R.C. Locomotive base today. The Assembly gathered representatives of 20 rugby clubs with a total of 43 votes.
At the elections, 10 votes were cast for Gocha Svanidze and 31 – for Irakli Abuseridze, who was elected President of Georgia Rugby Union.
“I would like to thank everyone for their support. We have to fill the fracture, from which our community had been suffering recently, and we are ready to cooperate with everyone because Georgian rugby will not progress without your commitment,” said Abuseridze after the voting process was over.
The presidential election was followed by Board elections. Composition of the new Georgia Rugby Union Board is as follows:
Mamuka Namicheishvili, Alexandre Sakandelidze, Giorgi Kopilashvili, David Kakabadze, Kakha Mkheidze, Soso Maisuradze, Boba Kvinikhidze, Gocha Svanidze, Giorgi Soselia, Givi Chkhartishvili.
